Hearts & Hands Disaster Recovery will be providing long-term disaster case management services throughout the state of South Carolina. HHDR will assist flood survivors in the 24 disaster declared counties with access to long term recovery resources. The disaster-impacted counties include: Bamberg, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Orangeburg, Calhoun, Fairfield, Florence, Greenville, Kershaw, Lexington, Newberry, Richland, Spartanburg, Clarendon, Darlington, Georgetown, Greenwood, Horry, Lee, Marion, Sumter, and Williamsburg. This program is free to residents in need of flood recovery assistance. This program is made possible by federal funding provided through the S.C. Emergency Management Division.
Survivors who have long-term, unmet needs following October’s severe flooding should dial 2-1-1 from any phone in the state. Each caller will be linked with disaster case management services by using the phone prompt to select a language and then pressing “7”. HHDR disaster case managers are trained to connect survivors with long-term recovery resources and assist them with disaster recovery planning.
SC 211, a service of the United Way Association of South Carolina, is an avenue for entering the disaster case management system provided by HHDR. This joint disaster case management intake service was made possible through a grant from the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce.
