S.C. Attains National EMAP Accreditation

Tropical Storm Andrea Forms, Prompting Preps

The first named storm of the Atlantic Hurricane Season has formed and could potentially affect South Carolina. The National Weather Service and the National Hurricane Center expect Tropical Storm Andrea to produce heavy rain and wind in many parts of the state beginning tonight and lasting through Friday morning.

SCEMD received this national recognition for the South Carolina Earthquake Guide, a brochure that contains information on what to do before, during and after one of South Carolina’s greatest natural vulnerabilities.
