The South Carolina Emergency Management Division will host AFTER MATTHEW: A Disaster Recovery Workshop for Coastal Businesses on Friday, January 26, 2018, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Providing businesses with information on how to prepare for and recover from large-scale emergencies and disasters, the seminar will feature discussions on contingency planning, as well as public-private partnerships, which help ensure community preparedness. It will also offer an opportunity for businesses to build and test their own continuity plans against a customized hurricane scenario during a featured table top exercise. Lunch will be provided.
“We have seen during major incidents that the faster local businesses recover, the faster the entire community recovers. This is an opportunity to strengthen our emergency management partnerships by helping businesses build better disaster plans,” SCEMD Director Kim Stenson said.
The event is taking place at the Myrtle Beach Train Depot, 851 Broadway Street, Myrtle Beach, S.C. Interested participants can register in advance online at https://goo.gl/forms/HC57FdIBCm3ZsWFB3. Day-of registration begins at 9:30 a.m.
There is no cost for registration and lunch will be provided. For more information, contact Sarah Pickhardt at 803-737-8500.
